Final home💖

Memory Verse 🌿:

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
~ Philippians 3:20

What about heaven?

Heaven is something many believers talk about, but not many truly think about. We plan our lives here, build dreams here, and get comfortable here. Yet Jesus reminded us that this world is not our final stop. He said He is preparing a place for us. That means there is more beyond this life, something eternal, something perfect, something with Him.

Heaven is not just a story or a hope to comfort ourselves. It is a promise from Jesus. The Bible describes heaven as a place where there is no more pain, no tears, no sorrow, and no death.  A place where sin cannot enter and where God's presence fills everything. Imagine a place with no heartbreak, no fear, no disappointment, and no goodbyes. That is the kind of eternity God is preparing.

Sometimes we get so focused on surviving life here that we forget we were created for more than this world. Our souls long for something eternal because this earth was never meant to fully satisfy us. There is a reason why nothing here feels permanent. We were made with heaven in mind.

Jesus spoke about heaven not to scare us, but to give us hope. To remind us that this life is not the end of the story and that there is a home beyond this one, and it is with Him.

The Reality of This World

When we look around, we see pain, injustice, sin, heartbreak, and evil. This world is beautiful in some ways, but it is also broken. That alone shows us that this cannot be our final home. God did not design eternity to be full of suffering. “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. ”~ John 16:33

The Bible reminds us that this world is temporary. One day, everything here will pass away, but God’s kingdom will remain. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” ~ Matthew 24:35

Why Jesus Has Not Returned Yet

Sometimes people ask, "If Jesus is coming back, why is He taking so long?" The truth is that His delay is mercy. God is giving people time to repent and come to Him.  “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise… Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. ~2 Peter 3:9 Every extra day is another chance for someone to turn to Christ. That is love, not delay.

An Inward Reflection 💖

Thinking about heaven should gently pull us into honest reflection, not fear. It invites us to pause and ask real questions about our lives and our walk with God.

Are we living only for this present world, or are we storing treasures in heaven?
Are we ready if Christ comes today?
Are our desires, choices, and priorities aligned with Him?

A heart check is not about guilt or pressure. It is about realignment. It is a quiet moment where we allow God to search our hearts and shape our lives for eternity. For those who have accepted Christ, heaven is not something to dread. It is our true home, a place prepared by a loving Father. When our hearts are with Him, heaven becomes our hope, not our fear.

Conclusion 💜

This world is not forever. One day, we will all leave it. The question is not if, but where we will go after. Heaven is real (so is hell). Jesus spoke about it. He is preparing it. And He invites us to be there with Him. So while we are here, may we live in a way that draws us closer to our final home.
