The Spirit of Religion 👀

🌿 Memory Verse: " These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules." ~Matthew 15:8-9 (NIV)   In Matthew 15, we see the Pharisees approaching Jesus with a complaint. They were concerned that His disciples were eating without first washing their hands according to the tradition of the elders . At first glance, this might seem like a reasonable concern. However, Jesus used the opportunity to expose something much deeper. These were people who appeared devoted to God outwardly, yet their hearts were far from Him. This was not the only occasion where we saw this behavior. The Pharisees questioned Jesus for healing on the Sabbath, criticised His disciples for picking grain on the Sabbath, and accused Him of blasphemy on several occasions. They were so consumed with religious regulations that they often missed the very things God valued. Jesus even reminded them of what was written in Hosea 6...

Snatched✌

🌿 Memory Verse: " You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit."  ~ John 15:16 Sometimes I think about how different my life could have been if God had not found me when He did. Some people are blessed to grow up in homes where both parents are deeply rooted in Christ. They are taught the Word from a young age, surrounded by godly examples, and introduced to a life of faith from childhood. And while that is a beautiful blessing, not everyone has that experience. Some of us had to encounter God in a completely different way. For me, it feels like God had to snatch me.😌 Not because I was living some extremely outrageous life, but because I was living without much awareness of God. I knew about Him. I knew the Ten Commandments. I knew certain things were wrong. But knowing about God was very different from actually knowing Him. I could remember being disrespectful to my parents, talking about people behind their backs, saying thi...

Everything but the Bible😏

Memory Verse💟: "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have"~ 1 Peter 3:15 As believers, there are so many things that occupy our minds and our time. We think about school, work, money, relationships, the future, and everything else that comes with life. Even when it comes to our Christian walk, we can become consumed with church activities, ministry, serving, conferences, and Christian content. None of these things are necessarily wrong; in fact, many of them are important, but sometimes, in the middle of doing everything else, we forget to actually sit down and study the very Book our faith is built upon. We can know how to pray. We can know how to serve in church. We can know how to sing worship songs and quote popular Bible verses. We can even know how to call ourselves Christians. But how well do we actually know the Bible? And beyond simply reading it, how well do ...

Give It Up 😌

🌿 Memory Verse: " Whoever  wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me."  ~ Matthew 16:24 Learning to Give It Up One of the first people that comes to mind when I think about surrender is Abraham . Imagine spending your entire life in a place that is familiar to you. Your family, your home, your surroundings, and everything you have ever known are there. Then one day, God tells you to leave it all behind and go to a land that He will show you. That is exactly what God asked Abraham to do.  In Genesis 12:1 , God said to him, "Go from your country, your people, and your father's household to the land I will show you." God did not give Abraham the entire plan. He simply told him to go. And Abraham went. He had to leave what was familiar and step into something he had never seen before. He had to give up his sense of security and trust that God's plan was superior to what he was leaving behind, and this makes me think abo...

Whoever has ears let them hear💫

🌿 Memory Verse ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time, I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn." ~Matthew 13:29–30 (NIV) Jesus told a parable about a man who went out and sowed good seed in his field. Everything began well, but while everyone was asleep, an enemy came and secretly sowed weeds among the wheat before leaving. As time passed, both the wheat and the weeds began to grow together. When the servants noticed the weeds, they were surprised and asked their master, "Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?" The master replied, "An enemy did this." The servants immediately offered to pull up the weeds, but the master stopped them. He knew that removing the weeds too early could also uproot the wheat growi...

Overwhelmed? Be still💫

Memory Verse 💨 “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” ~ Matthew 11:28 Life can get really overwhelming sometimes. Everything happens so fast. One moment you are trying to rest, and the next moment you are worrying about school, work, responsibilities, friendships, relationships, the future, and so many other things all at once. Especially for us as students or working individuals, life can become very exhausting mentally and emotionally. Sometimes you are not even physically tired; your mind is just tired. And honestly, I think a lot of people are currently feeling this way in this season as well. But one scripture that keeps me going is when Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Jesus is the true source of rest and peace, not the temporary comfort we try to find in the world, in people, or in distractions. I think in moments like these, we should learn to slow down and be still before God...

For Such a Time as This👑

Image
🌿  Memory Verse:  “ And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? ”~ Esther 4:14 Introduction💨 There are moments in life where we may not fully understand why we are where we are. The position we hold, the people around us, and the doors that opened may all seem random, but in God’s plan, nothing is accidental. Sometimes, we are placed in certain positions not just for ourselves, but for a greater purpose that will reveal itself in time.  The Backstory 📖 Reference: 1 Samuel 15 Before the story of Esther, there was a moment in history that seemed unrelated, yet deeply connected. God commanded King Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites. Saul obeyed partially. He spared King Agag and retained some things for himself, despite God having given clear instructions. Although the battle was won, the assignment was not fully completed. What seemed like a small act of disobedience would later echo in a ...

Final home💖

Memory Verse 🌿:   “ But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” ~ Philippians 3:20 What about heaven?   Heaven is something many believers talk about, but not many truly think about. We plan our lives here, build dreams here, and get comfortable here. Yet Jesus reminded us that this world is not our final stop. He said He is preparing a place for us. That means there is more beyond this life, something eternal, something perfect, something with Him. Heaven is not just a story or a hope to comfort ourselves. It is a promise from Jesus. The Bible describes heaven as a place where there is no more pain, no tears, no sorrow, and no death.  A place where sin cannot enter and where God's presence fills everything. Imagine a place with no heartbreak, no fear, no disappointment, and no goodbyes. That is the kind of eternity God is preparing. Sometimes we get so focused on surviving life here that we forget we were created...

Choosing Christ💗

🌿  Memory Verse :                     "Then he said to them all, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." ~  Luke 9:23 (NIV ) Choosing Christ is not a one-time decision. It is a daily choice. It is choosing Him in your decisions, your academics, your relationships, your friendships, and even in the quiet moments when no one is watching. Many of us say we love God, but choosing Christ means allowing Him to lead every part of our lives, not just the parts we are comfortable giving up. Putting Christ first does not only mean praying or going to church. It means seeking His kingdom in how we live. It means obeying the commandments He gave us, especially the ones we sometimes overlook. Loving your neighbor , forgiving those who hurt you, showing kindness , and helping people in need . These things matter deeply to God. Jesus Himself made it clear that on the day of j...

Dealing with sin 😌

🌿  Memory Verse :                    “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”    ~ Matthew 5:29-30 Dealing with sin is not an easy topic to talk about. Many times, we would rather avoid it, downplay it, or pretend it is not there. But sin is something every believer faces at different stages of their walk with God. It shows up in our thoughts, our desires, our habits, and even in things we once considered normal. In Matthew 5, Jesus speaks very honestly about sin. His words are strong, but they are not meant to be taken literally in the physical sense. When Jesus says to cut off your hand or remove your eye, He is not i...

It's not too late✌

Memory Verse  🌿               “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11  (NIV) As the year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting more than usual. This year hasn’t been easy for many of us. There were expectations that didn’t come through, prayers that felt unanswered, hopes that grew tired, and moments where discouragement felt louder than faith. For me, this year carried its share of disappointments, regrets, and seasons where hope felt distant.  We started this year with some people we are no longer ending it with. Some dreams were delayed. Some prayers were answered differently. Some doors closed when we thought they would open. Yet, the fact that you are reading this means there is still breath in your lungs and purpose in your life. As long as there is life, there is hope. This year taught me a lot. It taught ...

Feeding the Spirit💖

Memory Verse  🌿 “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” ~Romans 8:5 (NIV)  Not everything that keeps us alive actually nourishes us. Just like our bodies respond to what we eat, our spirit responds to what we constantly consume. What we listen to, dwell on, watch, speak, and entertain daily is either feeding our flesh or strengthening our spirit. And the truth is, your spiritual growth will always reflect what you’ve been feeding the most. What It Means to Feed the Spirit 💫 Feeding the spirit means intentionally nourishing your inner life with the things of God. It is choosing what strengthens your relationship with Him over what only satisfies the flesh. Just like the body becomes weak without food, the spirit becomes weak when it is not sustained by prayer , the Word , and fellowship with God . I have noticed that whenever I ...

Overcome Addiction💃😌

🌿  Memory Verse: " No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."~ 1 Corinthians 10:13 Addiction is one of those struggles many people carry quietly, not because they don’t want help, but because society hasn’t always created a safe space for these conversations. For a long time, topics like pornography addiction, substance abuse, or even emotional addictions were treated like shameful secrets, and that is to say, they were something to hide, not something to heal. Many of us never heard these things discussed in church, in our homes, or in school. We just stumbled into them and tried to deal with the damage by ourselves. But in this generation, there is more awareness than ever before. People are beginning to speak up, to admit that they are hurting, and to seek help. Conversations that were...
