The best gift the world received💖
🌿 Memory Verse: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ”~ Romans 10:9
Before we talk about the gift, we need to understand why it was necessary. A lot of us go through life thinking everything is fine. We look okay, we feel okay, and from the outside, nothing seems wrong. But sometimes, what is happening internally is a completely different story.
🩺 Doctor Analogy
Imagine going to the hospital for a routine checkup. The doctor runs some tests and scans, and everything seems normal at first glance. You feel fine, you look healthy, and nothing about you suggests that something is wrong. However, the doctor then examines your results closely and notices something serious. Let’s say it’s a disease like cancer. Now imagine the doctor simply tells you, “You are sick,” without showing you any proof. You probably wouldn’t believe it. After all, you feel fine. But if the doctor shows you the scan, the evidence is right in front of you. You can no longer deny it. At that point, you won’t just accept the diagnosis; you will start asking for a solution.
In the same way, many of us think we are fine spiritually. We compare ourselves to others, we look at our outward actions, and we assume everything is okay. But when we look into God’s standard, which is His Word, we begin to see the truth.
The Bible says:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” ~ Romans 3:23
When we examine our lives through God’s commandments, we realize that we have all fallen short. Whether it is putting other things before God, holding grudges, lying, or even the things we justify, we have all broken His law in one way or another.
Now imagine standing in a courtroom, guilty of a serious crime. The evidence is clear, and the judgment is just. The judge gives a sentence, and there is a penalty to be paid. But then, someone steps in. Not to deny your guilt, but to take your place. They pay the full price for your crime so that you can walk free. Legally, you are no longer condemned, not because you were innocent, but because someone else paid your debt.
This is exactly what Jesus did for us. We were guilty. We could not meet God’s standard on our own. No matter how hard we try, we cannot fully keep His law. But instead of leaving us in that state, God made a way. Jesus came, lived a perfect life, and took the punishment that we deserved. He paid the price in full so that we could be forgiven and set free. This is why salvation is not just a story. It is a gift. And it is the greatest gift the world has ever received.
A question someone might ask is this: If I believe in Jesus, can I still live however I want? The honest answer is no. Not because there are rules forcing you, but because something begins to change within you. When you truly believe and begin to seek Him, He starts to transform you from the inside out. Things that once felt normal may start to feel uncomfortable. You may begin to feel convicted, sometimes even before you do something wrong. That is the Holy Spirit at work, guiding you and correcting you. This is what happens when you surrender your life to Christ. It is not just about saying you believe. It is about allowing Him to change you.
Salvation is a gift, and it is a free gift. But like every gift, it must be accepted. And beyond accepting it, there is something more important, a personal relationship with God. Think about it this way. If you like someone, you naturally want to know them more. You ask questions, you spend time with them, you care about what they like and what they don’t like.
It is the same with God.
If you truly love Him, you will want to know Him more.
We grow closer to God by spending time with Him. We read His Word, because that is how He speaks to us. The Bible is not just a book, it is God’s message to us. It reveals His heart, His will, and His truth. We also pray. Prayer is simply communication with God. It is how we speak to Him, share our hearts, and grow in relationship with Him. As we do these things consistently, we begin to know Him more, and our lives begin to change.
Some people may wonder, if all of this is true, why hasn’t Jesus come back yet? The answer is love.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise… Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” ~ 2 Peter 3:9
He is giving people time to turn to Him. This is a reminder that we should not live carelessly or delay our decision. We are called to be ready, not like the foolish virgins, but prepared.
Many of us struggle with sin. That is the reality. But as believers, we are called to turn back to God daily.
Repentance should not be a one-time thing. It should be a lifestyle.
Ask God to help you. Ask Him to change your desires. Ask Him for strength.
Salvation is the greatest gift the world has ever received. You do not have to earn it. You do not have to work for it. It has already been paid for. All you have to do is believe. Someone has already taken your place. Someone has already paid the price. And that gift is available to you.
You don’t have to stay the same. You just have to say yes.
